Every year Microsoft hosts their biggest Partner event called Microsoft Inspire. Technology Management Concept’s CEO, Jennifer Harris had the proud chance to attend the live event in Silicon Valley as part of the Microsoft Women Owned Network to a viewing party, where Microsoft Partners and Executives get together to learn about Microsoft’s innovations for the coming year.
This year, Microsoft Inspire focus goes beyond Digital Transformation and more in depth about the digital imperatives for companies undergoing (or for those thinking of going) the transformation.
Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella opens his keynote with:
“Every organization in every industry will continue to infuse digital technology into every business process and function so that they can do more with less… The time is now. It’s what will make the difference between organizations that thrive and those that get left behind”
The event highlights new products and features that would help companies do more with less to differentiate themselves and build resilience in an inflationary economy. Satya breaks down the digital imperatives into five focal points below.
Cloud Migration
Satya says, “95% of new digital workloads will be deployed on cloud-native platforms by 2025…the cloud is foundational to how organizations will be competitive going forward….It’s all about helping customers drive operational efficiency, deliver faster time to value and reduce costs.”
Having said that, here is what to expect from Microsoft Cloud’s platform – Azure, in the coming months:
- Competitive pricing – Running a Window Serve and SQL server on Microsoft Azure can save you up to 80%
- Widespread data across the globe
- Microsoft Cloud for Sovereignty – A new program that allows businesses to migrate to cloud while meeting government sovereignty, security, and privacy requirements
- Azure Arc – A feature that allows you to build apps on Azure in Hybrid, Edge and Multi-cloud environment
Empower Fusion Teams
Every organization wants to have their own app developments to automate, simplify and accelerate their unique business processes. Microsoft makes it possible for small businesses to invest in a developer platform. With the integration of Power Platform, Microsoft Teams and Dynamics 365, digital innovation will not only be fast and easy to collaborate for developers, but also 80% or more inexpensive compared to major competitors. New features of Fusion Team include:
- Azure DevOps and GitHub – allow developers to collaborate, code and deliver solutions faster
- Azure Container Apps and Azure Spring Apps Enterprise – build and deploy modern and Java apps with ease and scalability
- Power Platform– gives citizen developers opportunity to automate tedious processes as well as build low-code to no -code end to end business solutions at reduce cost
Unify Data and Apply AI models to Business Processes
Companies make business decisions based on data, therefore gathering data, and building analytical solutions are critical. However, this process requires a lot of time, which is our most scarce resource. So, what’s the solution? Microsoft introduces the Microsoft Intelligent Data Platform which automatically learns the gathered data and solutions all in one place so that you can create more value instead of managing data.
Collaborative Business Process
As hybrid work continues to be prevalent Nadella says that “Every organization requires digital fabric that connects people, places, and processes and this creates a massive opportunity for all of you to help make hybrid work, work.”
The new updates to Teams will allow hybrid work to be flexible, collaborative and efficient. Here are features of Microsoft 365 that will connect people, places, and processes wherever and whenever:
- Excel LIVE – Collaborate on an excel file without leaving the meeting window
- Collaborative annotation – Engage with any content during screenshare
- Video Clips – Allows users to record and send short video messages
- Team rooms – Connecting at home and on-premise employees
- Microsoft Viva- Manage and optimize employees’ online experiences
- Windows 365 – This helps companies onboard employees faster and from anywhere around the world
Prioritize Security
Satya Nadella reported, “Businesses are experiencing an increase in both the volume and sophistication of cyberattacks. Cybercrime is now expected to cost the world $10.5 trillion annually by 2025”
Because there is an increase in number of cyber-attacks, Security should be a priority in any organization with a digital presence. Microsoft addresses this concern by combining technology and human expertise to provide a full security solution for its customers through new programs such as:
- Microsoft Entra – Identity management
- Microsoft Purview – Compliance and data governance
- Microsoft Priva- Help customers manage privacy
