TMC Family Retreat 2017

Halloween weekend can only mean one thing here at TMC – retreat! Along with a few scares, we got together to discuss and plan out our new services, support, and offers for 2018.

This year our lovely host was the historic Queen Mary! Once a world-class ocean liner, the Queen Mary offered our team a unique experience staying on a boat based in Long Beach that still sports its original 1930s artwork, polished wood paneling, Art Deco style and the operable portholes! There’s no question that the Queen Mary Hotel is unlike any other Southern California hotel. Each stateroom had its unique with its own personality and offers a real glimpse into what transatlantic travel was like during the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s.

We started our trip with a fun team happy hour on Thursday evening then a tour of the ship learning about paranormal adventures on the Haunted Encounters tour! Some didn’t sleep too well after learning all the passengers that passed away over the years and still haunt the ship to this day! With such a varied and intriguing past it’s not surprising that the Queen Mary has been voted one of the Top 10 Most Haunted Places in America by Time magazine.

If that wasn’t enough to scare most of us, the “brave souls” on TMC’s team went and experienced the Queen Dark Harbor Mazes and rides full of fright, monsters and scares!

The time travel back to our childhood days continued with a Scavenger hunt around the boat. Then we had our 2017 review and our 2018 business planning as an entire team which was extremely productive. We are excited for our clients to learn about all Microsoft benefits coming their way!

Later that night we had our Murder Mystery dinner then began our second night of Hocus Pocus-ing around (minus the scaring of children).

Post-celebration that humans share 25% of our genes with bananas, among others, we fought through the chocolate coma and got to some work on our final day of the retreat.
