Dynamics 365 Business Central – MANUFACTURING & DISTRIBUTION APPLICATIONS CONSULTANT (Remote)

WE NEED A MANUFACTURING & DISTRIBUTION APPLICATIONS CONSULTANT  (BC) – REMOTE

Technology Management Concepts (TMC) is seeking a Senior Dynamics 365 Business Central Applications Consultant with deep expertise in manufacturing and distribution environments. This role is ideal for an experienced functional consultant who thrives in complex operational scenarios—inventory, supply chain, warehousing, production, planning, and financial integration—and enjoys partnering closely with clients to drive measurable business outcomes.

You will serve as a trusted advisor to operations, finance, and IT stakeholders, leading end-to-end Business Central implementations and helping manufacturers and distributors modernize their ERP platforms.

What You’ll Do

As a Manufacturing & Distribution Applications Consultant, you will:

• Lead functional discovery, solution design, and configuration for manufacturing and distribution-focused Business Central implementations
• Own core operational areas including Inventory, Warehousing, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Sales, Production, Planning (MRP), Costing, and Finance integration
• Translate complex business processes into scalable, best-practice Business Central solutions
• Configure and validate Business Central modules aligned to project scope, industry standards, and client-specific requirements
• Deliver engaging, role-based end-user and super-user training tailored to manufacturing and distribution workflows
• Support data migration efforts including item masters, BOMs, routings, vendors, customers, open transactions, and historical data
• Lead and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), issue resolution, and go-live readiness
• Partner with developers, architects, and project managers to ensure high-quality delivery
• Prepare functional specifications, process documentation, and training materials to support configuration, integrations, and custom development
• Collaborate with and configure third-party ISVs commonly used in manufacturing and distribution environments (WMS, EDI, shipping, forecasting, reporting, etc.)
• Provide post–go-live support, optimization recommendations, and continuous improvement guidance
• Stay current on Business Central releases, manufacturing enhancements, and ISV ecosystem developments

What You Bring

Required Experience & Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on Dynamics 365 Business Central implementation experience
• Proven experience implementing manufacturing and/or distribution ERP solutions
• Strong functional knowledge across:
  • Inventory & Warehouse Management
  • Supply Chain & Purchasing
  • Sales & Order Fulfillment
  • Manufacturing (Discrete, Light, or Make-to-Order / Make-to-Stock) including:
  • Production Planning and MRP
  • Replenishment
  • Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Routings
  • Capacity Planning
  • Subcontracting, BOMs, Routings, MRP / Planning, and Costing
• Demonstrated success training end users and operational teams (required)
• Strong business process acumen with the ability to speak the language of operations and finance
• Own functional validation of configured and customized solutions, including:
  • Defining test scenarios and acceptance criteria
  • Executing functional testing
  • Documenting test results and working closely with developers and other team members to resolve issues
• Limited involvement in pre-sales activities such as solution demonstrations, as needed
• Excellent communication, documentation, and client-facing skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating within cross-functional project teams including project managers, developers and solution architects in a remote environment

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Certification Requirement

• MB-800: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant
