Dynamics 365 Sales (CRM) – What’s in the “CRM” Name?

Today we’ll be covering what’s in a name Dynamics 365. I’m Miriam Florio, CRM Practice Manager here at Technology Management Concepts. So let’s dive right in.
If you’re searching the web for Dynamics 365, you’re going to come across different names not only Dynamics 365, but Microsoft CRM, Dynamic CRM, Dynamics 365, D365 Sales.
So, what do these things all mean? They’re all the same thing Microsoft has renamed its CRM several times in order to match the entire scheme of what Microsoft has in place. It’s a full platform with applications all talking to each other right now it’s called Dynamics 365.
Let’s take a look Dynamics 365 Sales is Microsoft’s online CRM. The image below shows you Dynamics 365 Sales app inside of the sales app sales people can maintain their daily activities, perform lead acquisition, keep track of their activities, and emails and also move all the way from quotes to orders to invoices. So it’s really all the functions a salesperson would perform. It also comes in a couple other flavors so you can also get Dynamics 365 Marketing, which has a marketing centric focus or service. Under the D365 umbrella are also Finance Operations, Commerce and HR.
So what did we learn today? Dynamics 365 Sales marketing and service are all CRM Dynamics 365 is online and doesn’t require installation. Dynamics 365 itself is a full product suite that also includes ERP solutions and other focused solutions.
