Ventura Regional Sanitation Department

Ventura Regional Sanitation District goes live on Dynamics GP!

Los Angeles, CA – The Ventura Regional Sanitation District (VRSD), working with Technology Management Concepts (TMC), has successfully implemented Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0.  VRSD is an enterprise public agency, serving the waste/wastewater and solid waste needs of Ventura County. They are found in nine special districts and eight cities. They are made up of four distinct entities: VRSD – Ventura Regional Sanitation Department, TSD – Triunfo Sanitation District, SSD – Saticoy Sanitation District and VCREA – Ventura County Regional Energy Alliance.

VRSD needed to replace their existing financial system with a cost-effective, integrated management system that would enable their staff and employees to have immediate access to financial data, enabling them to analyze and report in a quick and efficient manner.  Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0 met or exceeded all of VRSD’s functional requirements, and delivered a familiar and comfortable user environment, low total cost of ownership and a highly scalable system environment.

VRSD selected Technology Management Concepts (TMC), a Los Angeles-based Microsoft Gold Certified Partner to provide Project Management and consulting services for the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0.  To ensure a successful implementation, the Project Team chose to utilize a phased approach to the project.

Phase 1 was focused on the deployment of core financial functions (including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and electronic payment capabilities), Payroll (including Paid Time Off management and Direct Deposit), Requisitions and Purchasing, and Job Costing.  Phase 1 was successfully completed on July 1, 2009, with Payroll being deployed on August 1, 2009.

Phase 2 will include Human Resources, Fixed Assets, enhanced reporting and business intelligence, Cash Management and Forecasting, and Vendor Contracts for Purchasing.  Phase 2 was started on August 1, 2009 and is expected to be complete by November 2009.
