TMC Announces New Product Offering!

TMC (Technology Management Concepts) is very pleased to announce the availability of a new product offering:  Microsoft Dynamics NAV.  TMC has long supported Dynamics GP (formerly Great Plains), and has now expanded their Dynamics Business Solutions sales and services to include Dynamics NAV.  TMC is recognized by Microsoft for their commitment and experience, and has awarded TMC a GOLD Competency in Enterprise Resource Planning, for the second consecutive year, a recognition that is made to less than 2% of Microsoft partners worldwide.

Dynamics NAV is a fully-featured Enterprise Resource Planning system, emphasizing an easy to use interface, full end-to-end integration, strong analytical tools and business intelligence capabilities, and robust integration and development tools.  Dynamics NAV leverages Microsoft SQL Server as the database engine, and extends SQL server’s reporting tools.

With Dynamics NAV 2009, you will benefit from a role-tailored experience designed to promote those features and capabilities that are suited to an employee’s job requirements, and then either minimize or hide those features that are irrelevant or sensitive.  Dynamics NAV provides important tasks and reminders direct to the Home Page, providing rapid access to those critical situations.  Dynamics NAV includes 21 pre-defined Role Centers, and variations on these are easy to do.

TMC will also bring their highly experienced team of project managers and consultants to deliver the consistent results we have always provided to our Dynamics GP clients.  TMC has also supplemented the staff, bringing on certified Dynamics NAV team members.  Count on TMC to offer our best in all implementations.

(NEW 2011) TMC Gold Competency white background - smallTechnology Management Concepts (TMC) is very pleased to announce that we have successfully renewed our GOLD Competency in Enterprise Reporting Platform.  The GOLD Competency is designed by Microsoft to recognize the very best of their Dynamics partners, and TMC has now earned this prestigious honor for consecutive years.

GOLD Competency demonstrates the best-in-class expertise within Microsoft’s marketplace. Earning a gold competency is evidence of TMC’s deep, consistent commitment to a specific, in-demand, business solution area, along with the distinction of being among only 1 percent of Microsoft partners worldwide that have attained this outstanding degree of proficiency.

The Enterprise Resource Planning GOLD competency provides TMC with a unique opportunity to develop a trusted advisor relationship with our customers’ key decision makers. By providing solutions that address critical business priorities, TMC can build the foundation for longer-term, deeper customer relationships.

Earning a GOLD Competency in Enterprise Reporting Platform is a team effort, requiring virtually every one of TMC’s Management team, Consultants and Developers, and the Sales Team to have demonstrated the highest level of success and achievement within the Microsoft realm.  TMC has met or exceeded every requirement for this prestigious accomplishment.

TMC Spreading Holiday Cheer

TMC has a long tradition of volunteering for and donating to charitable organizations throughout the year and especially during the holiday season. It is a special time and this year TMC is giving back to the community by donating $10 on behalf of each of their clients to the LA Regional Food Bank and the Goodwill of Orange County (a client of TMC’s!).  The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank partners with over 600 charitable agencies with more than 1,000 sites to distribute food to those in need throughout LA County.  Since 1924, Goodwill of Orange County has helped people with disabilities find employment, become independent and support themselves and their families. TMC feel the need to continue to support one of our favorite charitable organizations in the LA Regional Food Bank as well as one of our newest clients, the Goodwill of Orange County.  They are both great organizations that help many people in need.

TMC will also be participating in One Voice Holiday Program based out of Santa Monica, CA.  They will be volunteering their time along with hundreds of other volunteers to help put together Christmas food baskets, toys and books to 2,500 families (12,500 people) living in poverty in the Los Angeles area.  In the spirit of the holidays, each child receives books and toys given personally by Santa and every family takes home a basket overflowing with all the makings of a wonderful holiday meal.  Please join TMC the weekend of December 15-18th, 2011! For more information about the program click here.

This year supports the extensive history of TMC volunteering for and contributing financially to charitable organizations.  TMC take great pride in giving back to the local community of Los Angeles, as well as organizations around the world that we are passionate about and touch our families closely. Some charities and organizations that we have been involved with in recent years include the the International Cancer Advocacy Network in honor of the late Brenda Diener, TMC Co-Founder, LA Food Bank, Jr. Blind of America, AIPAC, the OC Arthritis Walk and the LAGLC.

Company Retreat in Las Vegas: 2011

For the first time in a long time, TMC enjoyed a company retreat to Las Vegas at the end of July (28th & 29th). After a number of changes this year, it was a chance for the TMC team to recharge and focus on our goals in 2011 and early 2012. Since a number of the team now work virtually or on client sites, it was an opportunity for the team to get together, and in some cases meet new staff members for the first time.

After arriving in Las Vegas on the Thursday morning, a day full of fun activities awaited. The day started with a Mexican lunch and a few cocktails. It was the first time we got to put a name and face together for our expanding team.

The fact that we were in Las Vegas did not mean that we didn’t take care of our clients. Support was still running smoothly throughout the retreat.

Lunch was followed with a Team Building Poker Tournament. Some of the TMC team had were experienced Texas Hold’em players, while others were beginners. The experienced team members helped out the beginners and so the “team” work had begun. The afternoon was structured into two sessions and over two tables, each person having an unknown partner on the other table. The winners were as follows:

  • 1st Session: Eron Strang and Sergio Miramontes
  • 2nd Session: Brett Hensley and Julie London
  • Overall Chip Winner: Eron Strang
  • Wooden Spoon (Least amount of chips overall): Jennifer Kees

Dinner on Thursday night was at Benihana Village at Las Vegas Hilton followed with Hal Sparks comedy show. A great time was had by all.

Even though the retreat was about having some fun and reinforcing our great team culture, we did manage to get some work done on the Friday. We discussed the ups and downs and the in between of our industry over the past year; outlined our goals for 2011 and set some new strategies in motion. We highlighted our accomplishments of 2010 & 2011 including:

  • Achieving Microsoft Gold Certification
  • MPN Certifications
  • GSA
  • Staffing increases/decreases
  • Management Changes
  • NAV Certifications

Sometime on Friday was spent sharing stories about the late Brenda Diener, TMC’s co-founder, who lost her battle with cancer earlier this year. A new award was introduced “The Duckie Award”. Once a year someone who exhibits initiative and thinking outside the box will be awarded The Duckie Award. This year’s reciepient was Rebecca Morrison for her outstanding performance in the construction of a new website and over all willingness to take on new and unfamiliar challenges.

We took a creative approach to getting to know each other. One game was called Guilty Pleasures. Each team member wrote their guilty pleasure on a slip of paper . The facilitator read each slip and, the group had to guess who they belonged to. It was a great way to have conversations about a lot of random topics to try and decipher who fit with what. It turns out that there were some interesting guilty pleasures including: pastries; spicy vampire novels; Watching The Jersey Shore, Americas Got Talent and too much reality TV; Reiki massage; and ice-cream to name a few.

The retreat was a great success and TMC is a fantastic place to work. We are always looking for smart, hard-working people that love everything Microsoft! If you are interested, contact us at TMC.

TMC Holiday Party at Lawry’s Restaurant

The entire TMC team celebrated the 2009 Holiday season with an oustanding event at Lawry’s the Prime Rib!  Joined by their significant others, we enjoyed a wonderful meal and great fun together.  Lawry’s provided a truly delicious meal and beverages, and we all enjoyed a great time.  After the meal, we held a gift exchange, and everyone got something great to take home.
